What is SEEFLIK?

SeeFlik is a film competition for emerging filmmakers to showcase their work to talent agencies and studios while building exposure with millions of online viewers. As the first site truly designed to exhibit emerging artist’s work, SeeFlik uncovers and advances the most exciting up-and-coming storytellers.Every film that meets our simple entry requirements joins the competition and is eligible to win.Our film festival is exclusive to current undergrad, grad students and alumni (within 5 years) of an accredited film program or department.Twice annually contestants compete for $50,000 in prize money.The winners will have an opportunity to showcase their work to major talent agencies, studios and industry executives for representation.

For over 25 years, Larry Meli has launched and managed domestic and international cable networks and produced sports, news, documentaries and dramatic fare including a four hour miniseries for Turner Network Television entitled The Sound and the Silence.  From the development of the first regional all-sports pay network, SportsChannel-New York and then SportsVision-Chicago and SportsChannel-New England, to the award-winning New England Cable News, as well as the internationally acclaimed National Geographic Channels Worldwide, Meli managed and produced thousands of hours of programming for viewers in the United States and around the world.

During Meli’s tenure as Vice President and General Manager of New England Cable News, the network received three Associated Press Awards, including “Best Newscast” in its first year.  And as Senior Vice President of programming, Meli launched National Geographic Channels Worldwide in Europe and Asia.  In a two and a half year period, National Geographic Channels Worldwide grew to over 50 million subscribers in 56 countries and produced or acquired over 1,000 documentaries.

Meli was also President and Chief Operating Officer of AmericanLife TV Network, headquartered in Washington, DC, from 2001 until 2008. The network was the nation’s only full-time cable channel solely dedicated to the Baby Boomer generation.   In 2007, Meli launched a socially responsible programming initiative with George Clooney’s A Journey to Darfur and continued with Martin Luther King III’s Poverty in America.

From 2008-2011, Meli was President, Chief  Revenue Officer of Vobile, Inc. an Internet content identification and monetization business serving all six major Hollywood studios, broadcast and cable networks, professional sports leagues and music companies.  Vobile uses a highly sophisticated mathematical algorithm to create a digital fingerprint of each frame of the motion picture and track and match the content on the Internet throughout the world and remove unauthorized versions.

Under his development company, Dream Management & Entertainment, Meli is currently planning to produce a feature film on baseball great, Mickey Mantlewritten by Angelo Pizzo.  Also in development is the life story of Cesar Chavez and the United Farm Workers Movement written by Keir Pearson, and Magda’s Last Words, based upon an authenticated diary detailing the story of five women who escaped from Auschwitz during WWII and their journey home.

Meli is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and serves on various charitable and educational boards including Realizing the Dream, the AG Bell Association for the Deaf and Tisch School of the Arts, Asia.  He was also the past President of the Deafness Research Foundation and board member of theNational Institute on Deafness and Other Communicative Disorders at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.  Meli currently resides in Malibu, California with his wife Leslie.

Stuart oversees marketing, sales and business development for SeeFlik. An entrepreneur, marketing executive and online pioneer, Stuart has an array of experience in the digital media, motion picture and television industries. Stuart launched Hollywood Online (now Hollywood.com) with a partner in 1993, using limited seed financing, and operated the business from cash flow for the first two years. The company initiated and promoted the widespread use of interactive multimedia online as a marketing tool for entertainment companies and won a CLIO Award for its "Forrest Gump" interactive marketing campaign. Stuart played a critical role in building Hollywood.com, one of the first Internet entertainment portals. Most recently Stuart co-founded Ultimate Movie Site, a one-stop destination for movie fans. Prior to this, Stuart was the head of marketing for ClickStar (an innovative entertainment download service) and MovieTickets.com. Stuart began his career working in marketing roles for Universal Pictures and New Line Cinema, and was a newswriter for CNN. He received an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BFA from the NYU Film School. Stuart lives in Southern California with his wife and son.
